In a world with more play buttons than playgrounds, more handhelds than handballs, fewer people are taking full advantage of their spare time. They are opting to zone out rather than getting out.

But we say it’s time to make a change. It’s time to turn down time into playtime. It’s time to turn off the screens, pump up the balls, and actually play together. And ultimately, it’s time to forget about growing up, and remember how to play like kids again.

Playing around is too important to play around with. Knowing how games work, what rules to follow, how to master each game’s unique skills, and how you can make the most of it are just as important as knowing which game to choose and who you want to have on your team.

Science experiments aren’t just for scientist or college students. They are fun for everybody. After playing outside, work on surprising experiments. Be surprised that they work, be surprised by what happens. Be surprised by tricks and stunts that work based on scientific principles.

The best projects start with ordinary materials, and ordinary questions.
